Trim hedges.

Prune wisteria shoots back to 2-3 buds unless they are wanted for training on a framework.

Prune rambling and non-repeat-flowering roses.  Deadhead other roses to encourage more flowers.

Deadhead bedding plants, dahliahs and penstemons to keep flowering.

Harvest vegetables as they become ready.  Don't let courgettes become marrows!

Feed containers and favourite herbaceous perennials with Tomorite to prolong flowering.

Treat perennial weeds with a weedkiller containing glyphosate.  Treat powdery mildew with Systhane Fungus Fighter.

Keep camelias well watered at the moment to ensure good bud set.

Clear up and burn fallen rose leaves to prevent spread of black spot

Our garden design team offer a full design, project management, planting and styling service to clients seeking to create their dream garden. We are happy to work on any size of project from small planting schemes to large country gardens. An initial visit and consultation is free of charge. If your garden already has a good basic structure but needs a revamp, some fresh planting and styling ideas, or you just need some help and advice with pruning or other garden problems, we also offer a garden improvement service.

The Team:
Alan Edmondson - Planting Design and Horticultural Consultancy 
Alan is a highly experienced and talented horticulturist, former National Mastermind of Gardening, award winning conservationist and regular gardening expert on BBC Radio Solent. He founded Bowercot Garden Design in 1999 and is responsible for planting design and horticultural consultation.

Bryn Edmondson - Garden Design 
Bryn joined his father in Bowercot Garden Design in 2000. He has a master’s degree from Cambridge and has studied landscape and planting design at Greenwich School of Landscape Architecture. He has produced many gardens in a wide range of styles from contemporary urban courtyards to large rural estates.
